Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is truly custom cabinetry?

Truly custom means you’re not limited to 3 inch increments, or buying pre-manufactured cabinets. We measure and fit the space, no matter what the space may be. We also offer unlimited color options, as we use custom mixed lacquer.

  • What are some examples of custom cabinetry?

Some examples may be: having specific widths with no fillers, or specific depths and heights to fit tight spaces, while still incorporating custom designs. A bookcase may only be 10 inches deep in order to fit behind a door. You might only have room for a 17 inch vanity in your bathroom. You may like your counters an inch taller than average, or you enjoy extra deep drawers for storage. You may want custom LED lighting built in under your cabinets. We can also hide HVAC, appliances, etc behind custom cabinetry.

  • Who is Ross Brown?

Ross Brown is someone who enjoys problem-solving, specifically by taking a space and drastically improving it. He enjoys collaboration, and seeing a vision all the way through from demo to completion. Ross doesn’t only look at the big picture, he’s focused on the small details. He enjoyed working on estates in the Hudson Valley as a teenager. At a young age, he was exposed to older houses with good taste and style, coming away with a greater appreciation for custom workmanship. He was able to incorporate these classic styles with modern conveniences into the business known today as Romberworks. In his 30’s, Romberworks was born. For over 20 years, we’ve been bringing custom cabinetry to the Hudson Valley.

  • What geographical areas do you serve?

Based in Hudson, NY, we service within a 30-45 minute radius. This allows us to maintain good client care even after the job is finished.

  • How can I get an estimate for a project?

The process goes as follows: First, call, text, or email us, whatever you’d prefer. You will receive a prompt response, including a phone discussion with Ross about your project. Then an in home visit will be scheduled at your convienence to measure the space and discuss design more in-depth. After that, 3D renderings and CAD drawings will be sent along with a detailed estimate.

  • What does the process look like? Can you design cabinetry?

We can design cabinetry, but we are also happy to work with designers and architects. The process revolves around the clients needs. After finalizing a design, your custom project is milled, fabricated, painted, then spray finished. Next it is assembled, delivered, and installed. Final touch ups are done on site as well. For example, a standard kitchen install takes less than a week once fabrication is completed.

  • Do you work directly with homeowners or only with designers, architects and contractors?

We work with all of the above. If you need specific contractors, we have recommendations as well as for architects & designers, but are more than happy to work with your current ones.

  • How soon can my project be started?

Once designs are finalized to the installation, we’re on a 3-4 month timeline.

  • What payment options do you offer?

We accept PayPal, major credit cards, checks, and wire transfers.

  • Do you have a showroom?

Since everything is custom made, we don’t technically have a showroom, but we have a workshop that customers are welcome to visit to see their projects in the works, and whatever else we may be working on at the time. We also have finished projects for viewing here on our website.
